Animal Chiropractic focuses on the repair and maintenance of the neuro-muscular-skeletal system. The nervous system is composed of the brain, spinal cord, and nerves supplying every muscle, organ, and joint of the body. Nerves are the end communication link from the brain to muscle, organs, and joints and are critical to normal function. The spinal cord is the connection between the brain and nerves and is protected by a series of bones called vertebrae. Vertebrae compose a flexible unit called the spine and are connected by numerous joints, tendons, ligaments, and muscles to enable movement and support for the spinal cord. When the flexibility and motion of the spine becomes hindered, interference of nerve transmission will occur. These compromised nerves are unable to send normal stimulation to muscles and cause decrease in the strength, ability, and function of these muscles. When this occurs, normal function is reduced resulting in pain, stiffness, weakness, and limping. An example of this is the dimmer on a light switch. If the light is full on with no dimmer, the light is bright. If the dimmer is turned up (nerve interference), the light is less bright and not at full operation.
The goal of Animal Chiropractic is to restore function and mobility to the compromised spine in order to reestablish unobstructed nerve transmission. This is accomplished by accurately identifying areas of spinal compromise and applying a high speed, low amplitude force to the compromised segments. Animals experience little to no pain and most enjoy being adjusted. The adjustment restores normal motion to the spine and removes neurological interference. This allows the pet's body to heal and maintain optimal health.
Animal Chiropractic is an excellent complement to traditional veterinary medicine. By maintaining the body's proper nervous system function, pets enjoy peak healing. This modern, non-invasive, comprehensive approach to animal healthcare is an effective and valuable means to restoring and maintaining strength, agility, and quality of life. Treating the cause of pain, aches, and illness ensures maximum healing, top performance, and quality of life for your pet.
